cmkwritermama.gifWelcome to Writers On The Rise!

I’m Christina Katz, author of Get Known Before the Book Deal, Use Your Strengths to Grow an Author Platform and Writer Mama, How To Raise A Writing Career Alongside Your Kids (both Writer’s Digest Books) and I’m here to tell you that you CAN create the non-fiction writing career you’ve imagined.

Make that not just any career, but a career with integrity, authenticity and sincerity. Not only can you, but it’s a really smart idea to build a nonfiction platform even if you write in other genres because editors and agents are looking for writers who know how to make themselves visible in an extremely competitive marketplace.

Does this sound overwhelming on top of everything else you need to learn to break in as a professional writer today? It isn’t! Writers On The Rise, an online zine written by ten professional writers, who once stood in your shoes, will show you how.

Writers on the Rise is a zine for up-and-coming writers of all experience levels, who are looking to embrace the possibilities of the writing life. Each issue is designed to spark your creativity, authenticity and sense of satisfaction. WOTR features interviews, articles, tips and photos from bright and shining authors, as well as how-I-did-it-style articles from writers who are soaring to new heights.

I started Writers On The Rise in October, 2003 as a way to keep in touch with my former students. As I went along my merry way, I invited more writers and authors to participate and eventually realized I had a publication worthy of sharing with a wider audience.

Many thanks to those who have contributed encouragement, creativity, writing and money so far.

Julia Cameron was right…success happens in clusters. Subscribe to Writers On The Rise and become part of a community of thriving writers, who flourish, quite naturally, by following our instincts.

In the writing spirit,

Christina Katz

    Hi Christina,

Hope you’ve had a wonderful New Year. I just wanted to report that my article “making baby’s food” was published in a healthy moms, healthy babies newsletter. I’m waiting for the newsletter to arrive via mail so that I can see my name in print! The newsletter editor was interested in another article I proposed on time-out tips for parents. :) Thanks so much for the newsletter and all of the support! Have a good one.

    Regards,

    Heiddi
